The Bridge

The project consists of renovating an abandoned historic building located in a particularly lively neighbourhood of Strasbourg.

The old building will house new accommodation and a youth hostel, and the already-existing post office. New activities such as a sports centre, an exhibition space, and shared gardens will be meeting points for residents. The new sports activities are located in the basement of the inner courtyard, with the intention of leaving the upper exterior space accessible to the public through three openings. Several volumes fit together to create new squares and terraces.

The exhibition space begins in the existing building and continues into the extension. This new “bridge” allows people to pass from one side of the old building to the other and is visually connected to the climbing area of the sport centre.
